National Nutrition Month®, celebrated in March, is an annual nutrition education and information campaign created by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This campaign aims to increase awareness of the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical habits. The theme of National Nutrition Month this year is Personalize Your Plate. There isn’t a one size fits all approach to nutrition and health which is why it’s important to create personalized meals that cater to an individual’s personal preferences. Here are the key weekly messages for National Nutrition Month 2021:
Week 1: Eat a variety of nutritious foods every day
Week 2: Plan your meals each week
Week 3: Learn skills to create healthy meals
Week 4: Consult a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN)
Furthermore, you can check out the campaign toolkit which offers a variety of tip sheets, handouts, games, activities, PowerPoint presentations, and more. You can find these resources at https://www.eatright.org/food/resources/national-nutrition-month
